A number of Twitter users received an email from the company on Monday, informing them that their passwords were reset due to a security issue with a third-party website. However, Twitter later admitted to Cnet that the password reset notices were sent due to an error on the company’s part
“We unintentionally sent some password reset notices tonight due to a system error. We apologize to the affected users for the inconvenience,” Twitter said in a statement. The company did not reveal how many users were affected by the reset
