Coverage of the missing Malaysian airliner has boosted not only CNN’s ratings, but also its digital properties, backing up recent studies that show the Internet bets out TV as the primary source for people who want to learn more about breaking news.
Jeff Zucker, CNN’s president, told employees in a memo that the news organization had topped its previous record for page views and video streams, as well as a record for mobile web traffic.
“We will likely have more unique users across our global sites than any month in our history,” he wrote in a memo passed to Mashable. Read more…
