Self-proclaimed satire site The Daily Currant published an article Saturday entitled, “Man Responsible For Olympic Ring Mishap Found Dead In Sochi.” Three days and over 500,000 shares later (many people mistakenly believed the post to be factual), the article in question shows little sign of slowing.
Though The Daily Currant is clearly labeled a “satirical” newspaper on its about page, many lambast the site’s blurry distinction between satire and viral hoax fodder.
