The term “console wars” currently evokes images of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 battling for gamers hearts and dollars, but in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the war between Mario and Sonic was all anyone cared about.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are writing and directing a movie based on those gaming console wars between Sega and Nintendo, according to a press release on Booktrade.
The film, to be produced by Sony Pictures and Scott Rudin, will be based on the upcoming book Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation by Blake Harris, which is due out in August. Harris is also the author of Moneyball and The Accidental Billionaires. Read more…
