After its hit animated film The Lego Movie topped worldwide box-office sales, grossing $200 million in less than two weeks, Warner Bros. announced a sequel on Friday.
But Lego lovers will have to wait until 2017 to get another dose of plastic bricks
Warner Bros. said it plans to bring a Lego sequel to theaters on May 26, 2017. The studio will bring back screenwriters Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan for the sequel, according to Variety. But it’s uncertain whether the original cast — including actors Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell and Morgan Freeman — will return for the sequel, especially since there is a three-year period between films.
