A massive, brutal snowstorm that has gridlocked traffic in North Carolina stood no chance against the passion of fans who wanted to get to today’s Duke University-University of North Carolina basketball game on time. Too bad it’s been postponed.
People have abandoned their cars on state highways throughout the day — most trying to seek shelter for the night — but fans of arguably the most epic rivalry in college basketball left their vehicles on the road because the knew they could walk to Smith Center for the game faster than they could drive there.
