It’s official: Google has closed its $3.2 billion acquisition of Nest.
Google revealed in its regulatory filing Wednesday that it closed the deal on Feb. 7, just shy of a month after the deal was first announced.
The Federal Trade Commission had given Google the green light for the Nest acquisition last week
Google’s decision to acquire Nest, which makes a smart thermostat and smoke detector, confounded some initially, but analysts suggest it helps Google establish a presence inside customers’ homes and positions it well in the fast-growing Internet of Things market. Read more…
