People have purchased 2.1 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide since Sony debuted the console two weeks ago, the company announced via Twitter on Tuesday. Sony thanked fans by saying “we couldn’t have done it without you.”
The next-generation console went on sale in North America on Nov. 15; Sony sold 1 million PlayStation 4 units on that first day. It then went on sale in 20 European countries and Australia on Nov. 29. Now, the console is available in 32 countries.
The PS4 is sold out on major online retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. Meanwhile, GameStop and Walmart stores sold out of the console on Black Friday. You can still purchase a PS4 on eBay for around $600 or more — much higher than the $399 retail price. Read more…
