The Sound of Music Live! broadcast on Thursday night translated into the pitch-perfect sound of high ratings for NBC, as 18.5 million people watched the live three-hour musical.
Powerhouse vocalist Carrie Underwood and True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer took on the iconic roles of Maria von Trapp and Captain von Trapp. And together with the talented supporting cast, they sparked heavy commentary on social media, including funny live tweets from DiGiorno Pizza, criticism about swastikas appearing onstage, and praise from celebrities.
