Atlanta’s public transit system operators are looking to catch violators by installing urine detectors in stations’ elevators around the city.
After a brief pilot testing program, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will begin installing the $10,000-a-piece detectors next month, WSBTV reported.
Public urination is a “daily problem” in some MARTA stations. “The smell [of urine] hits you so bad. You hold your breath just to hurry up and get off the elevator,” one rider told WSBTV.
