Apparently, the U.S. government has no idea how much it will cost to fix the malfunctioning, multi-million-dollar federal healthcare e-commerce website, Healthcare.gov.

During ongoing Congressional testimony in the House Of Representatives’ Oversight Committee, David Powner, the director of IT management at the Government Accountability Office, was asked how much it will cost to fix the website. “We’re kind of blind to that,” he replied.

Yes, at the moment, it appears there is effectively a blank check to fix the website.

In previous testimony, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius revealed that the government has already spent $174 million of a +$600 million contract.

This is an ongoing story; see live testimony here.
