Motorola has revealed its plan to be a major smartphone player in emerging markets: the Moto G smartphone. The Moto G is an inexpensive phone that packs good technology for its cost, just $179 in the United States — with no contract.

The company plans to bring it to the U.S., the Middle East and parts of Asia by January. In the next few months, the Moto G will be available in 30 countries on more than 60 wireless carriers, Motorola said.
