GitHub, the collaborative platform for coders that has more than 4 million members, has introduced Goverment GitHub, which aims to do the same for municipalities

The site is described as “dedicated to showcasing the amazing efforts of public servants and civic hackers around the globe.” Such efforts include a Canada web experience toolkit, which is described as a “shared boilerplate for all government websites” and select datasets from the city of Chicago, among other open-source initiatives

“We’ve started a Government organization on GitHub so that users can connect, share best practices and learn from each other,” the company explained on the site Read more…
