Filming a pilot no longer requires a full-size production crew and major network — now, all you need is a camera and some dedicated friends
That’s exactly what Chicago-based comedian Joe Avella did with Delivery Dudes. The 22-minute pilot follows the lives of pizzeria employees and their delivery troubles, including a robbery at gunpoint, a pizza thief and a short-lived hip hop career

“I needed something that was easy to shoot and didn’t cost money,” Avella told Mashable. “I had available to me: My car, my friends and their apartments. Pizza delivery kind of popped up. It was perfect because the cast could be different for each one and we could film it in their doorways.” Read more…
