Cannonball, a five-person startup from Cambridge, Mass., released an email app for iPad on Tuesday which aims to make the tablet email experience more enjoyable and more productive. Rather than just ask users to scroll through a list of received messages, the app offers an additional column which groups recent messages by sender and adds thumbnail images to make them more visual
The effect is that it becomes much more fun to browse your inbox — the company’s tagline is “fall in love with email again” — and it also becomes much more efficient. Suddenly, messages from services like Groupon and LinkedIn get lumped together and can be deleted in bulk.
