Amazon introduced the Kindle Fire HDX to the world in September and now it is expanding the availability of its third-generation tablets beyond the US. The devices are now available in Canada, while pre-orders have opened in the UK ahead of a November 13 launch.
The new tablets — available in 7- and 8.9-inch sizes — are powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm. The screen is an HDX display — with a pixel density of 339 ppi and 4 million pixels — while the tablet also boasts 100 percent sRGB color accuracy and dynamic image contrast.
The 8.9-inch version is priced from C$399 (for a 16GB model), while the 7-inch tablet costs upwards of C$254 (for a 16GB of model). The retooled Kindle Fire HD is also available from C$149. The devices will cost from £329, £199 and £149 respectively in the UK.
Last time around Canadians had to wait nine months for the latest Kindles, this time the wait is a lot shorter.
