Watch What Happens When You Drop the New iPhones

The iPhone 5S and 5C went on sale in the UK at 8 a.m. this morning and by 8:05 a.m., a few were already damaged.

Members of the warranty protection company SquareTrade waited in line at a store and then headed outside with the new phones to see just how they handled being dropped. With the help of its drop testing machine — called the “Phone Terminator” — both phones plummeted six feet onto the street

The result? They held up fairly well. The iPhone 5S was only slightly chipped, but the 5C was a little more damaged, with chips near the phone’s camera and a few scratches on the screen. Both phones, however, came away from the fall still working, and without any damage that would effect their use. Read more…
