Twilio added support for picture messaging Wednesday, allowing customers to send and receive photo messages.
Twilio, previously a text-only service, provides a telephony infrastructure that lets developers add voice and messaging functionality into the web, mobile and traditional phone applications.
Some of Twilio’s most high-profile users include Airbnb, which capitalizes on the service to connect hosts and travelers without the exchange of phone numbers; Uber, which uses Twilio to keep riders updated on the status of their ride requests; and Match.com, which takes advantages of the company to allow communication among members without passing out personal phone numbers.
