Jeff Sandquist, who’s currently senior director of developer relations at Microsoft, just announced that he will be joining Twitter as director of platform partnerships.
“Change invigorates the soul,” he wrote. “I am joining the flock at @twitter on October 14, as Director of Platform Partnerships.” (He also pointed followers to Twitter’s developer website.)
A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment beyond Sandquist’s tweet.
The company’s longtime platform director Ryan Sarver announced his departure back in May. That’s when Twitter posted a job listing for the platform partnerships role, saying the job would involve “leading a team focused on driving the success and adoption of Twitter’s most important platform products such as Twitter Cards, Twitter for Websites, Twitter APIs, Ads API, the Vine Platform, our mobile platform and much more.” (The company’s relationship with third-party developers can be complicated if not downright litigious.)
According to Sandquist’s LinkedIn profile, he has held developer evangelist roles in Microsoft since 2004, and he’s been at the company since 1997. His former co-worker Robert Scoble tweeted, “I thought he would never leave Microsoft.”
