‘Causes’ Relaunches as Social Network for Civically Engaged

Causes will be reincarnated as a social network defined outside of the Facebook ecosystem, where it started in 2007 as one of the social network’s 10 original apps

The platform launched the Supporter Network on Tuesday during a presentation on stage at the 2013 Social Good Summit by Causes CEO Matt Mahan. The Supporter Network intends to connect likeminded citizen organizers, non-profits and celebrities.

“We listened to our users who want more tools to express themselves and connect with likeminded people. They want to discuss, debate and be inspired by great content,” Mahan told Mashable. “They want ongoing communities for connected action.” Read more…
