Social Network for Business Moxie Releases iPhone App

Moxie logo Moxie, an enterprise social network platform, released an iPhone app for its Moxie Employee Spaces app today.

Moxie started life as nGenera, but changed its name last year. The company invests heavily in usability research, and hopes its products will become the most user-friendly social media applications. Moxie offers both customer facing and employee facing software, and has a history of providing consulting services. Employee Spaces is its offering for internal social media.

The new mobile version of the app enables users to add status updates, add comments, view and “like” items on but you can’t create new blog posts, new ideas, etc. However, users won’t be able to create new blog posts or content other than status updates and comments from the mobile client. “The emphasis has been on viewing content,” says Moxie VP of Product Nikhil Govindaraj. “The goal was to get something out there to guide future development.”

Govindaraj says Moxie also plans to release an iPad-optimized version of the application in the future, but it needs more testing before the company can release it.

Other new features added to Moxie Employee Spaces include video streaming, improved search capabilities and a recommendation engine for finding “relevant people, groups, projects and content for each user based on individual behavior and interests.”
