Microsoft Denies Some, or Maybe All, of Intel’s Claims About Windows 8 and ARM

Yesterday we told you about some details about the ARM version of Windows 8 that an Intel manager shared on an investor call. Now The Register, which originally broke the news, reports that Microosoft is denying the accuracy of Intel’s claims.

But Redmond isn’t saying which parts of Intel’s statements are true.

From The Register:

“Intel’s statements during yesterday’s Intel Investor Meeting about Microsoft’s plans for the next version of Windows were factually inaccurate and unfortunately misleading,” the company said in a statement sent to The Register. “From the first demonstrations of Windows on SoC, we have been clear about our goals and have emphasized that we are at the technology demonstration stage. As such, we have no further details or information at this time.”

Microsoft declined to comment any further, leaving us to speculate as to which parts of the statements were true and which weren’t.
