Simple 5-Minute Web Button Styles

I’ve been making a lots of buttons lately!

Here at Web Design from Scratch, we’ve been testing the effectiveness of some of our own buttons and banners so I’ve had to become quite adept at creating effective buttons very quickly.

Using shapes, nicely toned colours and text and a few Photoshop effects here and there, it’s quite simple to create a good number of web graphics like buttons and banners in quite a short space of time.

Our main goal at the moment is to make sure that our visitors finding it easy to get to where they want to be on the site, and clickable content is obviously a priority. Having the right options available to you at the right time and in the right format is critical when delivering a lot of content to a reader via the web, so we have to make sure we’re doing it right.

So, I thought it would be good to give you guys the benefit of some of my work over the past few days.

I’ve knocked up a PSD file with 10 free web buttons which you can download and use however you like. Feel free to use them on your website how they are or mess around with them ’til your heart’s content.

All of these buttons are very simple and took very little time to create. However, if used in the right context, I’m sure they would be very effective for any website. I’ve created hover-states in the PSD which you can switch on and off easily by showing/hiding the layer groups in the layers panel.
