Savings Tips on-the-Go: Mint Adds Financial Advice to Its iPhone App

mint150.jpgThe popular personal finance site Mint has just rolled out an update to its iPhone app, adding a new feature to help users better manage their money.

Now, the app will offer personalized financial advice, with tips on how to better save and spend.

The iPhone app already helps users track their expenses and manage their various checking, savings, and credit card accounts. Linked to users’ Mint accounts, the app will give you push notifications with reminders on bills and balances, and give an on-the-go visualization of your budget and expenditures.

If we see a credit card with a lower interest rate than the one you currently use (and carry a balance), we’ll let you know. If we find a savings account with a higher APY than yours, we’ll point it out. Just like we can alert you whenever your bank charges you a fee, we’re now on the lookout for ways to help you save your hard-earned cash.”

Mint says the feature will come to the Android version of the app before the summer.
