Weekly Poll: BlackBerry App World Accepting PlayBook Apps – Are You Building One?

blackberry_playbook.jpgThis week, RIM announced it has opened up its BlackBerry App World portal to developers wanting to submit apps for its upcoming tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook. To encourage submissions, the company is even running a contest where early submitters are eligible to win a PlayBook for themselves, too.

Also this week, the PlayBook starred in its first hands-on video where it comes across as an “impressive” and “compelling” device, according to gadget bloggers. But is the hype paying off? Are developers out there really jumping at the chance to build PlayBook apps? Let us know in this week’s ReadWriteMobile poll.

In case you missed it, BGR got a long, 10-minute look at the PlayBook on Wednesday, and they came away “pretty impressed,” as did many of the site’s readers.

Potential developers for the PlayBook have a wide range of technologies to choose from, too, including Adobe AIR, Flash and HTML, says RIM, which also recently released an update to the beta version of the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR. The new update now supports a preview release of Flash Builder 4.5 and the Flex mobile framework.

So now, you tell us: are you working on a PlayBook app or apps? Let us know your thoughts in this week’s poll (and in the comments!)
