-New Kynetx Platform Integrations Help Developers Create Applications in Just Minutes that Can Span Social Networking Sites-
Lehi, Utah, September 17, 2010—Web “mash-ups” that weren’t possible even six months ago are now available in minutes thanks to new Kynetx integration with Facebook and Google Calendar APIs. Kynetx is a web development platform for creating context-aware apps that span multiple URLs. Using the context-aware Kynetx Rules Language, KRL, along with “context” (like Facebook data and Google Calendar data), developers can create a new breed of apps that respond to users needs and desires in a highly-customized, unique way.
The new additions to the Kynetx Developer platform join the Twitter OAuth and Amazon eCommerce API integrations recently unveiled prior to the Kynetx Impact Conference last April.
“The Kynetx paradigm lets users protect their own privacy, which is especially welcome in the face of growing Facebook concerns,” CEO, Stephen W. Fulling noted. Kynetx also aligns with the model Google is now unveiling in the Chrome OS, which is pulling apps and functions away from mobile devices and allowing them to operate fluidly across the entire Web. Additionally, our solution provides a secure environment that prevents inadvertent ‘leaks’ of sensitive information when apps integrate and cooperate across the web.”
“Kynetx is creating a new category of entrepreneurs as well as re-invigorating traditional web and ecommerce providers,” Fulling noted. “We’re giving developers the ability to create a new breed of app in just minutes–and with today’s announcements, these applications can integrate with Facebook and Google Calendar as well.”
For example, Kynetx programmer Jesse Morris, who is only 18, created a Kynetx app that integrates Google Calendar events with Facebook. With the app running, Facebook users see a sidebar on the right side of any Facebook page listing their Google Calendar events for the day.
“This app helps users that spend a lot of time in Facebook stay on target with scheduled appointments for the day,” Fulling continued. “This was a simple idea and took just a few minutes to create, but imagine the implications of having unique Google Calendar data available from anywhere on the web and mashed with any data—the possibilities are endless.”
“Kynetx makes it easy to extend an application across the entire web and the entire spectrum of social media environments,” said Tyler Whitaker, founder of TM Ventures who has developed an app called Social Paywall (www.socialpaywall.com) that was named winner of the first Kynetx App Contest earlier this year.
“The KRL browser extensions have made it fast and easy to extend our program to Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer in addition to allowing us to mashup social media content and features without having to expend the resources to get to all of those environments on our own.”
