UK mobile network EE says it will deal with mobile black spots in 1,500 rural communities across the country by 2017 using micro-network technology. To avoid the need for miles of new cabling, EE is installing small mobile antennas at suitable sites. The company hopes the solution, designed by networking firm Parallel Wireless, will provide reliable voice, 3G and 4G service to locations that aren’t currently well served by mobile providers.
