Code Club, the UK-wide network of volunteers that teach kids how to program, has announced a partnership with Samsung to unearth the UK’s “grooviest young coder”.
In what will be the first in a series of events to mark the tie-up, the Robo-Boogie competition is striving to encourage primary-age children (11-years-old and under) to code by creating their own dancing robot, using a Web app developed by the good folks at Code Club. The kids will learn the principles of coding, with winners receiving a Samsung 15″ Ativ Book 4 laptop, with ten Samsung Ativ Book 4 laptops being donated to their school.
The tie-up represents part of Samsung’s broader Digital Classroom initiative, which is setting out to boost technology-based skills for UK youngsters. Entrants are being asked to upload their dancing robot, with the public voting for their favorite by November 26.
