We’re not sure how they did it, but it seems that the organisers of the Digital Shoreditch Festival have managed to bring some sunshine to the capital along with two weeks of talks, presentations and networking.

Adaptive Web design, and the creating of rich online experiences, is set to become a core theme at this year’s event and the line up of speakers and attendees will be keeping everyone busy.

The week has been divided into themes such as ‘career‘, ‘capital‘, ‘identity‘ and ‘growth‘ and the whole thing kicked off yesterday under the heading, ‘inspire‘.

The Digital Shoreditch festival has become one of the largest UK events focusing on digital media. It celebrates the creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent from London. The hope is that as the event sees growth, it will start to rival the huge events like SXSW in the States to support the talent closer to home.

Last year the first event ran over five days, hosting 50 events with 179 contributors and more than 2000 attendees. A large portion of the East London area was taken over with parties, events, interactive artwork and augmented reality games.

This year looks to be twice the amount of time and probably double the fun. If you’re up for exploring the area around Tech City, then there is plenty going on and you can still register for full festival or day passes as well as networking dinners.
