Windows Azure Chief Bob Muglia is correct when he compares this year’s Professionals Developer Conference (PDC) to the 1992 event when Microsoft introduced Windows NT.
You can trace the rise of IT to that time in history. It is conceivable that 2010 will be remembered as the beginning of the cloud computing era.
We interviewed Muglia today over the live stream. We’ll come back later with a detailed look at what Muglia said at PDC. But for now, here’s our interview with Muglia that we did this afternoon at the Microsoft campus:
Watch live video from ReadWriteWeb on Justin.tv
In the interview, we discussed:
- The new Windows Azure Marketplace
- The state of the cloud
- Data centers, its place in the enterprise and cloud computing
- Openness and Microsoft’s view as it relates to cloud computing
- Standardized platforms for both the enterprise and the public cloud
- Technology metatphors…
We finished with his view about how Azure compares to the rest of the market. Is Microsoft a leader or a follower?
What do you think?
