There are dozens of online backup products available, and
we’ve written about some of the free services here. One of the more intriguing services is from CrashPlan, which for years has had an unlimited storage plan for free.
Today the company announced yet another plan, this one targeted at the SMB market, called Pro. There are two price points available: one for unlimited storage – $7.49 per month to back up a single computer and the other for unlimited computers, where plans range from 50GB to 4TB averaging less than $5/computer/month. The Pro plans have client software for Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris machines and both client and server versions.
Trend Micro’s SafeSync is another service that offers both options for an annual fee of $50. There are others who offer one or the other but not both. Backblaze.com and AT&T both have $5/month unlimited storage plans, and Carbonite has one for a single-time purchase for $59. DataDepositBox and Iomega’s iStorage Pro have plans for unlimited PCs, but charge by the GB for storage.
