Appirio Helps Develop New Salesforce.com Mobile Apps

appirio150.jpgCloud solution provider Appirio announced today a new mobile application framework that enables consultants and customers to build custom, native mobile apps without writing native iOS device code for extending Salesforce.com to mobile apps

The company has created four app templates that include common UI, data queries and gesture movements that can be used to assemble a custom app to do surveys, searches, time tracking and interact with geographic data. No doubt more will be on the way. Little or no knowledge of iOS programming will be needed, and all the apps can access cloud-based Database.com and Force.com. The company claims it is the first to combine the two Apple and Salesforce ecosystems together. They have a variety of mobile app toolkits along with cloud management services. These templates also enable iOS apps to be updated in real-time, in the field without needing to re-compile, re-test, and re-deploy code, so there is significant time savings when maintaining and enhancing these apps.

If you already use the Appirio mobile solutions, the new framework is a free enhancement. There is no separate pricing yet if you aren’t a current customer, however.

To promote and encourage using their templates, the company is also holding a new contest on CloudSpokes, their development community with more than 10,000 member developers. Prize purses start at $1,500.
