An ad agency exec has applied his marketing prowess to help funnel aid to victims of Typhoon Haiyan by starting a movement of “unselfies.”
Nicholas Bordas, VP at TBWA/Europe and president of Being Worldwide, proposed the idea, which he had spotted elsewhere, to his 61,000 LinkedIn followers on Thursday
“Social networks in the Philippines have become indispensable sources of information and aid for Haiyan survivors,” Bordas noted in the post. “Photos not relevant to the current disaster are discouraged. However, people have been posting ‘unselfies’ where instead of showing their face, they show their support for the Philippines by holding up a piece of paper with the URL of the donation page to send aid.” Read more…
