This past weekend, the penultimate round of the MLB playoffs reached a thrilling conclusion, and baseball fans across the country are now gearing up for a World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Sox and the Cardinals had the best records in their respective leagues during the regular season, making this the first time the two best teams will face off in the World Series since 1999, when the New York Yankees met the Atlanta Braves.
While Boston and St. Louis are two of the bigger markets in baseball, TV ratings for the World Series have been steadily falling over the past several years.
