Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s mapping authority, has produced maps of the island for more than 200 years. Now, it has swapped paper for Minecraft blocks in its latest mapping project.
The mapping organization used 22 billion Minecraft blocks to comprise 86,000 square miles of British land.
Players start at Ordnance Survey’s head office in Southampton before starting to explore the island. Players can add their own recreations of landmarks — real ones, such as Stonehenge, as well as imagined ones like the Hogwarts castle. Read more…
