E-reader company Kobo unveiled on Tuesday three new tablets in its Arc line, as well as the super-thin six-inch Kobo Aura e-ink device — the standout in its big announcement.
Mashable got some hands-on time with the device, and was astounded by its lightness. First, the touchscreen Aura is remarkably thin — measuring in at just 8.1 mm and 6.1 ounces — and fits right in the palm of your hand. It almost feels like an oversized coaster. There is something about the device that just seems really small — even more so than other e-readers in the same measurement ballpark — but that’s likely due to the fact that the screen and bezel lay flat like many tablets (but not necessarily e-readers) on the market.
