will.i.am is the lead singer for Black Eye Peas. He is now also the lead singer for Intel and its new director of creative innovation.
Late last year, will.i.am performed a song at the Salesforce.com Dreamforce event. Now it looks like the entertainment star will be singing songs he writes for Intel.
The news came this morning at an Intel press conference. In Intel’s words, will.i.am has a multi-year deal, involving creative and technology collaboration with Intel.

He had this to say about the new gig:
“Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers, and when I see an Intel chip I think of all the creative minds involved that help to amplify my own creativity,” said will.i.am. “Teaming up with the scientists, researchers and computer programmers at Intel to collaborate and co-develop new ways to communicate, create, inform and entertain is going to be amazing.”
will.i.am will write original music about Intel technology.
The hook for the deal is Intel’s concept of the “compute continuum” vision. In other words, it’s about connected devices and how the visual experience is changing how people use smartphones, laptops, tablets and other devices.
That may be the front end of the story but on the back end is a massive networked infrastructure that is required for people to create media, share it and store online.
This is some marketing, huh? We saw Will.i.am perform at Dreamforce. Now we’ll just have to wait and see what he sings about processors.
